There's a lot of fashion talk about silhouette right now: the Balmain silhouette, square shoulders, shoulder pads. Squaring your shoulders is a sign of bracing yourself for attack, of power, strength, standing your ground and illusion - preparing for hard times maybe? Defiantly carrying on in the face of them?
Stand firm. Stand strong. Be like a fortress or a strong tower.
I have always been about the silhouette. But then until my third decade my life has been all about war. I don't regret any of it. On the contrary, it has made me who I am today. And I still wear my armour with pride, because it means so much to me.
